Important monograph on the medical and pharmaceutical uses of absinthe. This appears to be the first work devoted exclusively to the subject. The author was founder and president of the German Academy of Sciences. - II. With engr. allegorical frontispiece and 4 engr. plates. Monograph on salsify, with an appendix about the medical properties of "fossil unicorn". - III. "In three sections, the first treating of the Deer in general, the second of the Deer in a theological aspect, and the third and longest section giving recipes for the use of every part of the Deer's body in medicine" (Schwerdt). - Some browning throughout, occasional slight spotting.
