Title within a full-page illustrated woodcut border (from Holbein ?). First editon of this very famous hebrew dictionary, the first dictionary of the Hebrew language Western. Santes Pagnino was a clergyman and a distinguished Hebraist of the sixteenth century and, thanks to the patronage of Leo X, translated from the Hebrew the Old Testament. Adams P-36.
