8vo (the leaf 196 x 132 mm), 6 volumes bound in a 1950 half calf with corners in the XIXth's style, with titles on spines, covers covered with coloured paper, but all the volumes retaining the original grey printed wrappers inside, all of them in a very fresh condition, with full margins and deckle edges. Collation: Vol. I: pp. VIII, 248 with an engraved portrait of Caterina II (singed at bottom "Antonio Zatta"), engraved vignette on titlepage, and a large folding engraved plate facing p. 75 "il Czar Pietro il Grande fonda la città di Pietroburgo nell'Ingria all'imboccatura del fiume Neva nel Baltico la primavera dell'anno 1703" (signed by printer and engraver in the copperplate, bottom, left and right: " Appresso Antonio Zatta e figli Venezia" and "P.A. Novelli in(cise)."). At the end a genealogical folding table showing the several king sand emperors of Russia of the Romanov family, from Michael Feodorovitch (appointed Czar in 1613) till Paolo I Petrovitch (son of Caterina, emperor from 1796 to 1801
