VEGA, CHRISTOBAL DE (1510-1573)
Liber de arte medendi.
Folio (cm 34), ORIGINAL BLINDSTAMPED PIGSKIN, AN UNSOPHISTICATED COPY. A few browning, marginal working in a few leaves. King of Spain's woodcut arms on title, pp. (6), 671, (1), (7). FIRST VERY RARE EDITION of this treatise, apparently never been for sale at auction in AE and ABPC databases. A chapter is dedicated to drink and wine, quoting wines from Yepes, the region of Galizia, and the (nowadays still famous) wine from Jerez. There are also notable remarks about blood circulation, against Fuchs and Argenterio's opinions. Baudrier, IX, 294.
